FREE COMIC BOOK DAY

If you find yourself in the vicinity of Albuquerque, NM this Saturday (May 1st) don't miss Free Comic Book Day at Astrozombies in Hob Hill.  My good buddy, and fellow comic book artist, Andy Kuhn and I will be on scene signing to crap out of some funny books.

There will plenty of great free comics, including a special Green Hornet book featuring the art of your's truly.  I will also have stacks of original Green Hornet pages for your viewing and/or purchasing pleasure!

NOCTURNE 01

So I've decided to try and start a weekly concept art section to my blog called Nocturne.  I've been inspired by a lot of my fellow funny book artists who do similar types of posts.  I figured this would be a good way to stretch my creative muscle and give me a chance to experiment a bit with techniques and subject matter.  "Nocturne" is a very loose homage to a series of paintings by Whistler that go by the same name.  So, basically, the unifying theme of all these drawing will be "night".  Other than that anything goes.

This first piece was inspired by old Luna Park at Coney Island.  Perfect place to start the night off with I think.
